Yamaha YZF R1

Born for the track- the YAMAHA YZF-R1 is much like its big brother- the YAMAHA YZR-M1. The MotoGP blood runs through its veins, housing a power-packed engine (crossplane) coupled with a chassis (short wheelbase) and hi-tech microelectronics.

The YZF-R1 has been built to take your bike riding experience to a different level. Carrying a similar racing DNA, that of its elder brother, this bike is proud to flaunt its massive 200 hp power, a weight of 200 kg and a wheelbase measuring 1405 mm. But guess what? It’s what you cannot see that makes this track-racing bike a lot more special than the rest.

The Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) is designed in such a way that it constantly senses the bike’s chassis motion in 3-dimension. This helps to create a grip on over traction, during slides, launches and front wheel lifts and when braking. Moreover, it features the updated Quick Shift System (QSS) that ensures a clutch-free upshifting and downshifting.

The YZF R1's Lift Control System (LCS) is designed with a more progressive mapping, which is said to improve forward drives at the time when the system intervenes. A magnesium rear frame, long swingarm, and racing ABS are featured within its compact chassis that ensure outstanding handling. What's more? The magnesium and suspension wheels are designed for racing which indisputably makes this bike a true competitor. This is not just a machine, but an opportunity to discover and test your true potential as a track racer.

The Yamaha YZF R1 is true to its name- it houses a crossplane crankshaft, 998cc inline 4-cylinder engine that features an industry-first titanium-built fracture-split connecting rods, which is around 60% lighter than steel. This decrease in weight gives the YZF-R1’s engine a potent character and makes it highly responsive at high rpm, delivering an exceptional high horsepower and a resilient pulse of linear torque.

For optimum intake adeptness, a central air inlet of the YZR-M1 type feeds a 10.5-liter capacity airbox- Fresh air is force-fed into the Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake (YCC-I) funnels that are electronically activated, which then adjust their length to match the R1 engine’s rpm. This ensures optimum power and functional performance.

The YZF-R1 a highly agile bike with outstanding responsiveness during race and track performances. This is one bike you would like to take on the roads, anytime, anywhere.
