At the heart of the Yamaha YZF R15 is the all-new 155cc liquid-cooled single cylider SOHC fuel-injected engine with 4 valves that packs a punch. It promises to deliver enhanced power and top speed. The engine has a 58.0 mm × 58.7 mm bore stroke and 11.6:1 compression ratio. It produces a maximum power of 14.2 kW (equates to 19.3 PS) at 10,000 rpm and a maximum torque 15 N-m (equates to 1.49 kgf-m) at 8,500 rpm.

The all-new YZF R15 features are vamped Delta box frame with Telescopic fork front suspension system and Swingarm link rear suspension system and an 88 mm trail that provides an excellent rigidity balance. This is because of the diamond shape formed by pivot points and top and bottom of the head pipe.
Even at low rpm, the YZF R15's high-performance VVA system provides that needed torque for ease of execution. The 155cc bike features one intake valve cam for low- to mid-range rpm and one for high rpm. At 7,400 rpm, these valve cams switch accordingly to deliver torque and power.
The Assist and Slipper (A&S) clutch helps a rider to downshift more assertively, and even brake late without the worry of going into a rear wheel hop. It helps provide low-stress shifting especially when you are slowing down by reducing the clutch pull weight. So, what a rider gets is a rev and finesse matching a seasoned rider and reduced fatigue. This also plays a key part in preventing excessive braking reducing stress on the chassis. The Assist and Slipper clutch allows for enjoyable and smooth downshifts.
